Breeders Links & Puppy Information

We hope this page will help you find your new Smooth and give you some advice on how to settle him/her in when you do get home.

Finding your puppy

We strongly recommend you go though a breed club (the Smooth Fox Terrier association is affiliated with Dogs NSW) or a breeder registered with Dogs NSW or any other body of the A.N.K.C.(Australian National Kennel Council)

When buying your puppy you need to find a happy out going puppy that suits your needs. If your looking for a pet or show you need to let the breeder know what you would like to do with your puppy, This will enable them to help you get the right puppy for your household.

What to look for in your puppy

Once you have found a good breeder and have worked out what you need in a puppy the next step is to choose the right one for you. A good healthy puppy will be outgoing and playful. The litter should have a regular worming program and be vaccinated. The breeder will be able to help you with more information.

Bringing your Puppy home

The Breeder of your puppy will help with more advice, here are the important things to remember -
Your puppy is a baby and will need a place to rest in a corner somewhere quiet for time out. A nice warm blanket in a box or dog bed will suffice.
Plenty of water in a bowl suitable for his size these need to change as he grows of course. But the puppy will need 24 hour access to water.
Puppies will make messes in places they shouldn't and chew or do things we don't like them too. They will learn over time.
The most important thing to remember when bringing your new puppy home is for the next few months till puppy goes a bit more is patience, patience and more patience.

Always remember that you can contact the breeder or your Veterinarian for further advice.
